Total solar eclipse over Luxor
2 August 2027 · Luxor

The event
A total solar eclipse crosses Upper Egypt on Monday 2 August 2027. Near Luxor, totality lasts up to about six minutes in the early afternoon, the longest on land until 2114: NASA gives a central duration of 6 minutes 23 seconds.
How NOYA plans around it
Planned as a journey: a Nile-view suite or a private dahabiya, a private viewing site away from the crowds, flights or a private jet into Luxor, Egyptologists for the temples, and the days either side. August is hot: shade, cool transfers and early starts.
NOYA can assist with access requests, travel, accommodation and the wider itinerary, subject to availability.
